Just like that they will not accept your request. You have to be stubborn that you can not come on friday for what so ever reason.

send them a letter showing your willingness to attend counselling and at the same time your disability to attend on given date due to unavoidable pre scheduled tasks etc. and ther is possibility that they will again give you such weekend dates so visit them on monday or tuesday if possible with lawyer and have some initial meeting with them in absence of your wife and inlaws. from your body language great confidence and awareness and politeness should be reflected. need not to worry. ask your lawyer to do some setting to get info about complaint to arrange NB/AB if required.
