cancellation of charges

Hii there was fir register under 420 &120 there were 4-5 accused in the case out them only 1 accused has joined investigation and got bail also frm high court now if investigation officer file cancelation of charges against one accused in cjm court will it be like quashing of fir against that particular person and the person will be free from charges and case will be closed against that person
