committee member resignation

Hi I was committee member of cooperative housing society whose tenure got completed on 12april 2015 but as election was not conducted till 12april i have put my resignation and others committee member continue till date as election is not conducted yet but yesteday chairman told me that my resignation is not accepted.I would like to know do my resignation will be considered as accepted by default as i did not received any letter specifying reason for non acceptance from committee. Its been 4 months from resignation.
