Forced partition

My father has 2 sons.I and my elder brother.my elder brother got married 6 years ago and he has 2 female childs. my sister-in-law is quarreling with my brother to ask my father for partion of property. she is also telling that she will move to court if my brother doesnot ask my father. is there any laws that says my father for patition of his property? or can my brother or sister-in-law can acquire the partion forcefully/lawfully?

If the property is ancestral then I am afraid there is little that you or your father can do, your brother can seek partition of the property. You would have the option of exercising your pre-emptive right and buy his share out.

thanks sir bt think that if my elder brother wants his share and suppose I demand my share in my father's property, then where will my father and mother go?
