Can anyone suggest as to what are the stages involved in a domestic violence case and how long it takes to get a decision on it?I have a joint name in my matrimonial home can i ask the courts to transfer sole rights to me as one time settlement.

Domestic Violence case after being filed, a reply would be sought from the respondents. Protection officer appointed would also report. As regards right to the entire house - you cannot ask for it as a matter of right - if you are a co-owner you have a right your share, apart from your other rights to maintenance/compensation for DV etc.

Thank you for your response sir I have just submitted a petition to the protection officer couple of days back when will the case be filed i have been given a date to meet them again which is after 3 months
