 Breaking News Last Updated on : 12/18/2009 9:49:54 AM PIL FILED IN HIGH COURT-FUNDS FOR SHRC Indian Young Lawyers Forum has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the State High Court to issue orders directing the State Government to release Rs.5.10 crores to the State Human Rights Commission headed for Mr Justice Subhashan Reddy, from strengthening the Commission.  Mr Komireddy Krishna Vijay Azad, Secretary of the Forum, informed in a press statement here, that the PIL has been heard today by the Chief Justice Mr Justice Anil Dave and Mr Justice C V Nagarjuna Reddy and ordered notices to the Chief Secretary to Government and the Director General of Police returnable in one week.  In the PIL, the petitioner contended that the State Government has crippled the SHRC by not sanctioning adequate staff and budged. He said that out of Rs.six crores needed by the SHRC, only Rs.90 lakhs was released by the Government. Lauding the work being done by the SHRC, the petitioner wanted the High Court to give a direction to the State Government to release the remaining Rs.5.10 crores to the Commission for strengthening it.
