No one can take thumb impression from a dead body.   If anyone takes immediately after the death of a person, it will come under a criminal.

The purpose of using such thumb impression decides the crime ?  (In what way the LTI of deceased is used except for criminal or impersonation purposes? )

If the thumb impression is taken for just matching or to keep as mark in love and affection it is no crime. However if it is taken to befraud or on will or else that would show transaction, then it is crime only. Clear your query
