Move an application under section 8 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 with supporting documents to the area Registrar of Marriages where either of the couple reside/ document to that effect.

However, it is a moot question whether the Section 8 is a stand alone-provision or it is a follow-up to the marriage already performed under the provisions of Section 7. In other words, can the registration under Section 8 be made without the marriage being  solemnised as prescibed under provisions of Section7?
