misbehaving a police man to public

A police man misbehaved with public with unparliamentary words. Sheer abuse of his position with no fault on other's part.

What can be done to get back to him and atleast bring him to justice for the humiliation caused?

You can give a complaint to Director General of Police in your state. or else

The Directorate of Public Grievances (DPG) in the Cabinet Secretariat of Government of India Helps to obtain responses to unresolved grievances on matters relating to some Central Government Departments and Organisations. DPG can Help you to obtain a respone and resolution on these grievances from the department or organisation.

As per your concern let me inform you that if in case such an incident takes place the victim must register a First Information Report (i.e. FIR) against the errant officer at any police station. However, if victim's complaint is not accepted (which is most often ) then he/she (i.e. the victim) must send a complaint to the District Superintendent of police who will then look into the matter and order the registration of the FIR .

Sir, as per your illustrated query!

There are several remedies available to a victim of police misconduct or abuse.
1. Any victim of police abuse: Can register a First Information Report(FIR) against the errant officer at any police station.
2. If his complaint is not accepted, he can send a complaint to the District Superintendent of police who will then look into the matter and order the registration of the FIR.
3. If both these avenues do does not produce results the victim can go to the nearest Magistrate and his complaint registered.

The Magistrate will then order the police to register the FIR;

4. The Victim can even send his complaint to the National Human Rights Commission or the state human rights commission if there is one in his or her state.

The Supreme Court of India in the case of Prakash Singh & Ors (2006)gave a landmark judgement directing all state government and the Union government to reform the way police forces functions all over the country. Police Complaint Authority(PCA ) is also a part of the directive to set up a Police Complaint Authority in all the states.

The Police Complaints Authority shall inquire into the complaints of serious misconduct against police personnel either yMotu or on a complaint received from a victim or any person on his or her behalf. Even complaints by National Human Rights Commission would be taken up by the P

Well analysed, opined and advised by experts, I fully agree with them.

You can file an FIR, which may lead to his dismissal from the job.

Refer to the article - " Misbehave with public, lose job: DGP warms cops" on the Times of India website to learn more about your query.
