No, because song is not the type of work in which copyright subsits. Song consists of words written by one man and its music by another and these two works are entirely different and can not be merged, as such the song itself has no copyright, unless the same is a work of one man that is both song and music owned by one person only.

A song can have copyright. The tune can be protected through copyright too.

If you use two creative talents, one to write the song and the other to create a tune and add music notes to it and pay them for thier effort with an agreement to the same. Then you are the producer of such work and can register the copyright of the same in your name. But in absense of either payment being made or an agreement then the creator of the words and the creator of the tune/music will have copyrights subsisted in the work in thier name.Any usage will need to have thier consent.
