No, the works are different. the CS generally does the secretarial work. But he can act as the lawyer of the company as well if he has an LLB degree. but not the other way round. a lawyer cannot do the secretarial audit and other tasks of a CS. But the field of law with which both deals is similar. There are many tasks which both can do.

both are professional careers so if one have edge in corporate law which one to choose thats my doubt

do both. while pursuing your LLB, join the CS course. LLB+CS is a good combination.

There is a difference between Company Secretary a post of Managerial in nature, whereas a lawyer can be appointed as Company prosecutor as if appointing a prosecutor under section 24 CrPc etc. An advocate can not take up a job of company secretary either under corporate laws or under the advocates act. Acting as company secretary with LL.B., degree is different from acting as company secretary as an advocate.
