Defamation

Hi seniors , 

I filled a case of defamation one year before , my client never attend the court after that , summons even never been served to accused , case demolished by court as DID . Someway accused come to know the contents of case and filed the case of damages against my client . How i should save him , pl advise me with some decided case.
