IF DIL who lives in other state than SIL gives some comments on character of SIL to ruin her image in her 498 application, can the SIL file the defamation suit from the state where SIL is living. SIL is also one of party in 498 case.

wife has submitted additional application in police station after 6 months of FIR lodged..till now chargesheet is not submitted....she has alleged that she caught SIL with some unknown person in the room giving all wrong type of details which i don't want to explain here...is it normal that after 6 months police is accepting these applications just to add more sections in chargesheet...SIL is working in another state and want to file the defamation and 193 IPC.

normally when a politician gives a hate speech or any movie is release with some objectionable material in that case defamation cases are filed throughout the india without challenging the jurisdiction..in my case why the aggrieved person can't file defamation where he/she is residing instead the accused is residing...
