For the purpose of payment of travelling allowance to its employees by Government, travelling allowance is for travel to outstations by modes such as train, flight,  bus etc. Conveyance is for local travel within a station. It can be by local train, city bus, autoriksha, taxi etc.

There are few allowances under IT act which are exempted, like driver all, transport all, conve all.

if conveyance all are the part of salary under fixed head, it is exempted rs1600/- pm month on the other part transportation all is exempted up to the extent to perform official duty in between duty hour and might be required proof. Tran all may be in salary head of special business like transportation, currier services
