1.    Depends on various factors read with under which Section one is seeking Divorce.

2.    If it is plain vanilla divorce one is seeking then duration is subjective based on many factors such as; Court workload, parties interest and parties advocates interests are all accumulative reasons and talks about subjective durations by when one gets divorce. Average duration in this proceedings scenarios is anywhere 3-7 years.

3.    If it is under Mutual Consent Divorce and both parties amicably wish to settle their issues and are honest about their intention then minimum 6-8 months one seeks divorce decree out of such proceedings.

4.    Clarify what route you have plans to seek divorce, then one can reply better otherwise it is somewhat vague query before me!

Dear querist,

The stipulated exact time frame of contested divorce is not known by any body as these contesting starts from Lower court and can goes to SC,depends on the other party who is opposing.

MCD-Mutual consent divorce is quick Kiosk of permanent seperation with a time frame of 6-7 months. For this both spouses should be ready for such action.

By the way why you need divorce?

For getting married to another lady as soon as you can or living with her is like a hell and you need seperation?

If the later is your concerned then you can seek for judicial seperation if you are not in hurry, alleging the hardship contexts.
