Divorce Summons servicing through employer valid?

I am working in Railways. The petitioner, my wife sent summons to my head of the Dept under "Order 5 Rule 27 of cpc". Is this valid procedure of serving summons in A.P.family court law?

Yes since you are in government service summon is served through the hod.

How the court can ascertain that summons received by me, is my HOD required to sent any acknowledgement to court?

Actually what happened was that the post man handed over the cover to the peon in dock section instead of giving it to my HOD, so now the peon is in the dilemma of what to do with those?
