Hi Fellow Members,
Would like to know if we have any act/law that governs the domestic help in India. Would also like to know if there are any prescribed norms on the no. of minimum and maximum hours in a day and week that a domestic help can work.

For Domestic help there won't me any boundaries, it depends on the capabilities of the service provider. I don't think there won't be any law governs domestic help and there won't be any time restrictions.
It is the will and wish of the Domestic help / service provider. However our other learned friends can give their professional key notes / points on the same.

The Govt. Has recently p;assed the Domestic Workers (Regulation, social security and welfare)Act which is also in force now, accoridng to it the Govt. will form a board where the domestic workers will register and there are other provisions for their welfare and security also.
