Is it legal for private engineering colleges to take original certificates from employees? I joined one engineering college ( famous in Andhra) as faculty. Before joining here, i asked to the college regarding the rule. They said: either you have to submit your original certificates here or allow us to deduct one month salary as security deposit " . I allowed to deduct the salary and they deducted. Now the college authority is forcing me to submit the original certificates. They are saying if you do not submit then resign from here.
I am very disappointed with this dual behaviour of university. I said : due to that mail only that I got from your side, I joined here. They are saying we changed the policy.
Kindly help what to do?
