Evidence affidavit from accused

i heard that noe the accued evidence affidavit is not required in written or its not acceptable. only oral statement shld be given. is it true?

No. Even accused is at liberty to furnish his evidence either oraly or in writting. Said writting may be affidavit; may be only statement (without affidavit) u/s 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
