Father's Name in Birth Certificate

Hi,

I am a Divorcee, with a 6 year old son. I was a christian and converted to marry a Muslim in 2002. My son is born a muslim. I have been divorced in 2008.( separated in 2004).

My ex-husband has never seen the child ever since he is 5 months old.

My birth name is MICHELLE DOMINICA ( catholic) and marital name was MUSKAAN KHAN . No legal notice was published to change my name, hence, all legal documents of mine read my birth name.

My Queries:

1. Can i have only my name ,MICHELLE DOMINICA, on his birth certificate?

2. Will it cause any issues in case he claims for child custody?

3. Will the child face any issues in future, having only MOTHERS NAME on his papers?

Please guide me.

Regards

1. yes.   2. no.   3. no, it is purely a legal thing.  you applyboldly. no problem for it. you have the right to suppress the name of biological father.

I concur with Mr. Arup.
