grandmother rights

my question is this that my friend father expired leaving dehind a un married daughter and unemployed son and on house which is the name of husband and wife. now his gandmother is asking the share in his house and the grandmother is quite rich as compared to him and grandmother has no liability and she has house of his own name. my friend has no liquid assets now i want to help him. so i request y all to give ur precious suggestion

can the grandmother has right in husband and wife joint property.

can wife can be absolute owner under section 14 a of hindu succesion act

or husband share can be automatically transfer to wife under section 44 of tpa

plz give suggestion he has to apperar in his first hearing

  • The grandmother does have a share in the property, as she is one of the class I heir of her son. Though the property is half owned by the wife, but the grandmother can claim her 1/4 th share in the other half belonging to her son along with the other class I heirs.
