Hello experts,, My sister was married to U.S. in 1996. When she went there the relation ship stood violent. Her husband tortured her mentally and physically. He put her in jail with a domestic violence case when she was pregnant. After the birth of her child in police custody in New York, we some how bring back my sister here in India. Then we filed a case 498a against her husband. 7.5 years have gone after filing the case. My sister is now a psychological patient,and my widow mother is 73 years old now , and I do my job out station. When court gives date, my sister is not able to answer properly as per instruction of govt. Lawyer,, my mother is incapable to carry her to court on date due to physical weakness and heavy age 73. Now in this situation I don't want proceed with this case further,,or want to stop this case. 1.). Is it possible?. Then what is the procedure?. 2.) Her husband's relatives reularly present at the court date. If I stop the case or do not proceed further ,can they lagally harass our family?. PLEASE HELP ME .
