You are the consumer of the Hotel, you can file a complaint before the Dist., consumer forum from where the payment was made and cancellation request was sent. I think you cannot file online complaint.

- A BANGALORE HOTEL WAS BOOKED THROUGH 'MAKEMY TRIP' ONLINE AND PAYMENT WAS MADE TO MAKEMYTRIP ONLINE.
- CENCELLATION REQUEST WAS MADE BY TELEPHONE AND EMAIL TO MAKEMY TRIP.
NEED YOUR EXPERT GUIDANCE AS MAKEMY TRIP IS REFUSING TO ENTERTAIN AND REFUND.

You may save the terms and conditions displayed on the web page while you made on line booking and study them carefully.
Usually the hotel has a policy of refund and it has to be line with the guidelines set by the Deptt. of tourism, by which upon cancellation total refund or % part of advance paid is refunded.
If it is a renowned hotel it may have its website. You can check it there.
You can also contact the hotel on phone, by fax ansk to send you the tariff card with all terms and conditions.
If the agency 'MAKEMY TRIP' had negotiated bulk booking and you were booked accordingly the hotel must have entered into a written agreement .
You can find about more from the hotel.
If the agency is not following the terms you have another advantageous point to fight.
The agency must be having wait listed customers and might have adjusted some other customer in your place.If the occupancy is low than decided for this group agency must have cancelled the whole arrangment since they won't earn the targeted profits.Your investigations into the matter and findings shall help you further.
Otherwise also if you have informed in advance the agency should refund.
