Housing association office bearers not sharing information

  • We had an election in our complex to select the management committee
  • to negotiate with the builder to get all the deliverables and
  • register the association.
  • However, they took financial handover without consulting other owners and are
  • now demanding maintenance charges that are double than what we were paying the builder.
  • They have also curtailed basics like power backup and the STP stinks making it unbearable for us to live.
  • They ignore our request for documents and do not share information.
  • Please guide on what action should I take and whom should we approach.

You can give complaint on the management committee to the registrar of cooperative socieities in your state.

But, this is an unregistered association. Can we complain to the registrar or sub-registrar against the management committee of an unregistered association? Please advice.

If it is unregistered association then all members are acting individually and election has no relevant.  They are just posing as elected one. They cannot negotiate with anyone.

So, does that mean that the formal election that was conducted becomes null and void?
