I have been asked to apply for death certificate with exact date of death. as i am not sure about the day of death but i do know year and have some idea about month of death ..can i insist mcd to check record for specific year ? is it possible to retrieve death certificate via RTI if day or month of death is not known?

You can get it if the death was registered with local authority. Else, apply to the Tahsidar who will enquire in the locality and issue it.
