how to pay maintenance

respected sir,in my divorce case court has ordered 10000rs.as maintenance and 30000 as one time litigation charge.my questions is what is the correct and safe way to give money to the wife.my advocate suggest to hand over cash in front of jer advocate and take receipt duly signed by wife and her advocate.please advice.thanks

To start with, You can give crossed cheque in her name.  That is OK.  Thereafter, you can get her account number details and then directly transfer the amount from your bank to her account. That should also be ok.  So long as you will be able to establish that amount has been paid by you to her, that should be ok from your point.  If you take care of this, then pl do not insist on signature/acknowledgement etc. etc.

Considering maintenance amount be 10000/-  per month.

First time you pay any way by account payee cheque or cash in front of judge.

From  second time onwards you can make account to account transfer, ask her account details for depositing maintenance.

Thanks all for your valuable advice. I am ready to pay by cash.her advocate said to hand over money to him and he will give a receipt on her behalf.is it ok or should I give money to her in presence of her advocate.thanks once again.

Thanks Adv Kamakshi for your valuable advice. I will follow your advice ditto.One last question.What if wife refuse to come to court.my next date for reconciliation is on19/6/18. I want to clear all dues before the date.thanks
