My vehicle which was under safekeeping with a broker is missing from him. I am currently not in Chennai and the E FIR directs me to file an FIR at concerned PS.

You can lodge a complaint inperson or through your authorised representative with the police station having jursidciton on this subject matter.
The advocate cannot lodge a complaint on your behalf until; you authorise him in writing to represent you and submit the complaint on your behalf.
