In sci whether advocate can apper on behalf party in person?

In supreme court of India only "advocate on record" or the party in person can file the petition only..but it is also stated that any advocates can appear on the behalf of parties but cannot do filing work which can only be done by party in person or by advocate on record. .In that case if the party in person has file the petition. whether advocate can appear on the behalf of party in person by merely filing the "Memo of appearance" in the same petition
