Is it police lenience?

Sir,

India is the world largest democratic country, so it is all that.

It will be something like controling the fire by petrol.

Cases are registered in some instances.  In other cases it is not lenience, but intentionally ignoring so as not to add fuel on fire.

I know one instance where PDPP Act was invoked against the protestors for damaging public road due to the burning of effigy. The persons caught were remanded also to judicial custody.

 File cases or collect bribe?

its very simple logic. it depends upon the effigy represents whom. if the protestors are ruling party burning effigy of opposite party, then the police will not file any case. it effigy of chief minister is burnt then case will be filed.

 Sharad Pawar held a political rally at Aurangabad. Hundreds of jeeps with flags fluttering, banners flying, packed like sardines with supporters crying themselves hoarse were zooming past. Not one Toll Naka had the guts to stop them.

Our leaders are still social pachyderms in process of  transformation into humanbeings.. (not all... many are unfortunately going the otherway)  'Yadha raja thadha praja'.
