Labour court & civil court issue

We Hired a Consultant for some of our construction works  he worked with us for more than 3 years as he was not permanent so we never took any signature or never created any bond or any voucher just paid his salary by cash as he was a known person thought was a faithful one but few months ago came to know by some sources that he started taking commission from few material supply vendors and we even caught him on two supplies so we asked him to leave.

                        Now He sent a advocate notice mentioning a particular site where no payment was due of his but he mentioned himself  as a labor in the notice with daily wages 200/- and mentioned that he worked there for four months and we have not paid him the salary of 24,000/- .

For the site the civil work is given to a contractor with an agreement on stamp and no daily wages are paid to labor we pay to the contractor only .

 For this site also consultancy payment was done by cash mode to him without any signature of him on any voucher.

 Now he is threatening to File a suit in labor court

 For your information he has been A-class civil contractor 10 years back.
