Lawyer is telling allow exparte divorce to wife

Is there any judgement reference which we can show to the judge along with the written objection and affidavit ? Because I heard that the judge where my case is running has rejected such a thing and asked both parties to go for a mutual divorce. Please advice. Thanks, Balaji.
