Both of you should be majors and the other should accept the proposal and both should call on Registrar of marriages and file such application in advance. The Registrar has to display such notice and intentions in notice board calling for objections if any and if there are no objections Registrar will register the marriage after collecting date of birth certificates, marriage photos, witnesses signature after collecting prescribed fee and provides such certificate of marriage which is a bonafide document.
