Is it mandatory for police to register an FIR under the BNS Act or it can just register NC to shield opposite party and then do nothing in the matter?
My friend from Mumbai was made to visit police several times before registering of NC though he wanted to register an FIR saying it requires investigation. It's now almost 6 months and no investigation is done resulting in severe harassment to the senior citizen though documentry evidences are provided.
In fact he is frightened to visit the police station as it's a hub of encounter killings of innocents.
Please suggest a remady. TIA
