mutation

Can we apply for mutation of a property if we are living and using the property as owners since for 40 years.it was purchased in benami name.sale deed has othrr name.please advise.

Sir,

Any mutation record, can applied in the name of the present owner, in whose name the sale deed is excueted. Say if the sale deed stands in the name of "X" only in "X"s name the other records will stand or can be applied for.

Just because you have been enjoying and living in the property mutation cannot be done and legally will not stand to prove your ownership.
