Hi

Thank you for your question

Section 503 IPC-Criminal intimidation- In simple words it deals with threat. Threat to a person, his reputation or property, or any other person, his reputation, or property in whom he is interested, to cause that person to do or restrain him/her for doing something.

For eg: A, for the purpose of inducing B to desist from prosecuting a civil suit, threatens to burn B’s house. A is guilty of criminal intimidation.

Section 506 IPC( Punishment of criminal intimidation)-Whoever commits, the offence of criminal intimidation shall be punished with imprisonment of either descripttion for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine,or with both.

Answer to your qyery :

1.Non-cognizable

2.Bailable

3.Triable by any Magistrate

Hope this will help you

Best regards,

Akshay Gupta
