Dear Singh,

A lawyer is not necessary for filing an application for divorce by mutual consent.  Your couple can straight away file an application before Family court.  The fixing of first hearing date depends upon the workload of the court.

No, a lawyer is not needed in any of the cases as a necessity.

It is as per your conv. that you choose a lawyer.

Many people on the forum including me have been fighting own cases with little or no assistance from lawyers.

Regards,
