Non appareance in court

Dear Experts, This is a case where a wife has filed an appeal in the High Court against decree of divorce given in favor of her husband by the District Court. The Hon'ble High Court vide there interim orders have stayed the order passed by the District Court. The summons have also been served on the respondent husband but on last two dates neither of his advocate and he appeared before the court. In fact he or his advocate has never appeared before the High Court to defent the case. I would request your advice as how can the proceedings be expediated in his absence?
