Phone recording evidence: Questions

Dear Members,

Questions for you

1. In divorce proceedings how the phone recording should be produdced - in small small clips containing only relevent conversation or recording  of complete conversation? There are some recordings which are 2.5 hours long. Sure enough not all of them are of material importance and I am not sure  even  court will have sufficient time to hear such long conversations. At the same time we don't want the evidences to be rejecteds when we produce small clips and the opposite party claims that it is modified..

2. We are also considering options of submitting small small clips along with complete conversation. Is this approach doable/advisable?

3. Are we required to submit transcriptt of the conversation?  Conversation is in  reional dielect. Shall we give   hindi/english translation transcriptt in the court?

Thanking you,

Only ruth

Please do post the updates of your trial on this...

This is a really useful information.

Do you have the files as .wav file which are recorded...or is it mp3 ?

Can you play in between , a middle patch .......... like a mp3?

Do submit whole conversation, supported by call details and itemised bill of the telephone (Obviously you must have made the call... ro ask other party to give the detail in court by notice to produce... and be ready to pay costs of producing those)

You should NOT cut it into the voice clips .... submit it as it is ... but you may mention that relevant part may be heard.

But the whole process may start from voice identification!!! And forensic report about voice etc....

But in matrimonial matters, it does shake the balance of convenience.
