Police call by public servant(ward boy) w/o informing higher

sir,

a person is misbehaved violently and he calls police while on duty against another colleague who is not on duty.

is it necessary that while  being on duty , this right is only used after taking permission from higher authority.

what if it is urgent to save life.

@suryagaurav

The situation depends upon the type of threat. In my view, the immediate help available was the higher authority and not police. However, if the act was violent, final report to police is discretionary matter of the person on duty. If his problem is solved by approaching the higher authority, then it might be an option to to not to call the poclie.

If ones life is threatened then he needs none's permissin for calling police.
