Power of attorney

Hello Experts,

While buying and registering a resale flat (agreement to sale) if one of the owner is giving power of attorney to other person (due to ill health), is it required to register the POA document before going for property registration? Or can it be just notorized and will notorized document be acceptible by sub-registrar during property registration and also by banks?

Hi

It is mandatory to have the power of attorney registered  for any property transaction.

notarised/self attested/unregistered power of attorney are to be strictly avoided.
