Procedure for Power of Attorney in India

• Draft the Power of attorney whether special or general, by a documentation lawyer or through a website
• Submit the power of attorney with the Sub-Registrar.
• Attach the supporting documents with the power of attorney.
• Attest the power of attorney before the Registrar.
• Attest of the power of attorney by 2 witnesses.

 The documents required for registering a PoA:

• Passport size photo of parties.
• Address proof of parties.
• Identification proof like Driving License, Voter ID card, Aadhaar Card, etc.
• Tax Receipt or Index II or Electricity Bill of the Property (in case PoA is related to the property).
