Previous employer

I have left my company , a more than 1.5 yrs ago. But unable to get new job. Everything goes well , and new employer used to complete all formalities , but don't know after giving previous employer reference , new employer even stops picking phone. Pls advise

is it only this new employer or does your problem relate to all employment establishments against which you are applying for jobs?

Also , once I talked to HR head he told me that , I am blacklisted. When I left job there was no such case.
