private document as evidence

can private documents such as private medical certificate etc. be admitted as evidence without examining the auther of the documents? can the patient or person named  in the documents not be examined examined to get the documents admitted as evidence?

The answer to your query is affirmative but to cross check the authencity/veracity of such documents their author can also be examined/called for deposing.

mr. bhanudass, what i feel,   even a personal diary can be used as evidance. but it should stand on cross exame and the argument of  oposite advocate. if u submitte a certificate then it will be chalanged by opposition he may ask for cross exame of person who given a  certificate.  each evidance will become proof only after cross examination.  but if advocate of opposition accepts it or do not cross exame it will become proof.
