Muslims as everyone else are also governed by Transfer of Property Act as regards property transactions. Though Wills/Gifts/Inheritance/Succession are governed by Islamic Shariat Law. Broadly :

1) Muslim cannot will mroe than 1/3rd of his property by will (other than heirs) without ocnsent of heirs;

2) Gifts are valid even without written instrument - merely by declaration/acceptance/DOP.

3) Inheritance/Succession are peculiarily different from ordinary rules of succession.
