Since it is a joint property or even otherwise, since your uncle is issueless, his wife or any other class I heir will share the property upon his death.

Class I heirs are sons, daughters, widow, mother, son of a pre-deceased son, daughter of a pre-deceased son, son of a pre-deceased daughter, daughter of a pre-deceased daughter, widow of a pre-deceased son, son of a, pre-deceased son of a predeceased son, daughter of a pre-deceased son of a predeceased son, and widow of a pre-deceased son of a predeceased son.

Since you say your uncle is issueless his share of property falls open to all other uncles and aunts for further partition along with your father irrespective of your father paying your issueless uncle's property taxes... so it is better to have it written onto your father's name when your uncle  is still alive.
