We have finalized a proprety in a multi-story apartment complex.
This owner has said that the flat comes with a closed garage, which is detached from the main structure of the building but is in the same compound as the building.
However in his property agreement which he has got from the builder (he is the first owner of this flat, which was purchased some 30 years back), there is no mention about the garage. Even garages in the builing are not numbered. As of now he does not have anything which him that proves he owns the garage. But he claims he has paid the amount to builder for the garage and has been using it since.
How can we confirm if the garage indeed is part of this flat? Will society have any document for the same to prove his claim? If not, when we buy this flat from him how can we make sure the garage indeed will be transferred to our name? Btw no garages in the building are numbered or marked.
