Dear Queriest,
A medical abortion entails the use of a medicine or a sequence of pills to end a pregnancy. A woman may be eligible for a medical abortion if her pregnancy is less than 10 weeks old (meaning fewer than 10 weeks since her last menstrual period). The MTP Act provides for abortion up to the 20th week of pregnancy. This limit does not apply if the woman's life is in jeopardy and she needs to terminate the pregnancy right now (Section 5 of the MTP Act).
Regards,
Aryan Raj
