No person can make  testamantory succession of ancestral property. He can do so only for self acquired property.

Yes , a person can make a will of his ancestral property subject to the condition that the property should be in his name on the record .

A Will can be executed for bequeathing an immovable property by the testator provided he is having valid and absolute  title over the property to be bequeathed through the said will.  A Will bequeathing that portion of  the undivided share in the ancestral property, as per his entitlement can be bequeathed to the beneficiary and it can be held as valid in the eyes of law.
