I would like to draw your kind attention to the following legal query for my guidance please.
1. Whether the Rent agreement intimation (Online/Off-line) to the police is compulsory by the Owner
2. In case of failure to do so by the owner,what legal complications to be faced by the Owner and Tenant.
3. Also inform in what laws of state/Central Govt it is governed.
4. Is there any provision to inspect the rented premises by the owner at any time or with prior intimation to the tenant. Whether theses clauses can be inserted in the rent agreement.
5. Whether the Rent agreement is compulsory to register under the provisions of Maharera

- The requirement informing the police regarding rental aggrement is to control terrorist activities. Most people do not follow this.
- I do not think that any action will be taken unless you rent out the premises to a terrorist.
- Police are under the State Government.
- If the owner wants to inspect the premises, it is a matter between the owner and the tenant and it can be included in the rental aggreement.
