I stay on rent in a house in bangalore from past 2 months. My wife has got a job around 15 kms from where we stay, so finding it hard to travel. We gave 1 months notice to the owner, but she dis-agreed and said that we have to atleast stay there for 6 months. After that we can leave. She says in bangalore you cannot leave the house in just 2 months. If i still leave the house i have to pay 11months rent. Is there a law of such kind. And suggesstions will be really really helpful?

Dear, There can not be any law with such provision in nay state in India. At best she can demand rent for the notice period.. You have not stated whether u have any written agreement for house..? if so what r the terms..? whether any advance has been paid..? pl. make it clear for the readers for better reply..

Yes there is an agreement. i have given an advance for 10 months. The agreement does not say that i hav to forcefully stay for 11 months. I have attached the rent agreement.
